Despite the strikes by the Screen Actors Guild and the Writers Guild of America, filming for the second season of the series “House of the Dragon” has wrapped up, as reported by Variety.
The premiere of the new season is set for the summer of 2024. The strikes did not affect the production process of the show since the script was already prepared, and filming of the series concluded in the United Kingdom.
The events of the show “House of the Dragon” take place approximately 200 years before the storyline depicted in “Game of Thrones.” It revolves around the “Dance of the Dragons” – a civil war that erupted due to the struggle between two branches of House Targaryen. Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Prince Aegon Targaryen jointly assert their claims to the throne, leading to conflict.
